The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro SS comes packing a stout 6.2-liter pushrod V8 that pumps out 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque. It features a 6-Speed manual transmission and can sprint from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 4.2 seconds. It’s quite fast, nimble and can, even in its stock form, duke it out with the best of them. However, this particular Hyper Blue Camaro SS is miles away from being called stock by any measurement.
This Camaro SS features a bevy of aftermarket modifications. It looks like it eats Ford Mustangs for lunch and Mitsubishi EVOs for dinner, topping it off with an occasional BMW M3 for dessert. While the Camaro SS is an aggressive looking vehicle from the get-go, the guys over at Anderson Composites managed to transform it into a clean looking beastly Camaro that looks right both on and off the racetrack.
The vehicle features a complete Anderson Composites carbon fiber aero kit. The kit consists of a carbon fiber hood, chin spoiler, rocker panels, front and rear fenders, rear spoiler with a wicker and a rear valance. The lightweight parts feature seemingly perfect fitment and they flow well with the aggressive body lines of the American muscle car. While the unpainted carbon fiber will get the purists riled up, they give this Camaro SS a quite rugged & industrial look.
After the aero kit was installed, next in line came the work on the suspension & brakes. A set of JRI Shocks, Detroit Speed coilovers and a set of Eibach springs are perfectly chosen upgrades over the stock suspension system. They allow the V8 muscle car improved cornering performance, better stability, and a much more aggressive stance. Furthermore, the stopping power was also improved, thanks to a Wilwood big brake system for this vehicle. The Wilwood Aerolight six-piston 15″ rotors grace the front wheels, while a set of Wilwood Aerolight four-piston 15″ rotors is installed in the rear, massively improving this Camaro’s stopping power.
For this build, leaving that 6.2-liter V8 engine stock was not an option. The engine received a brand new Injen intake, improving the airflow to that monstrous V8 beast under the hood. Allowing for more power and torque is a Corsa exhaust system, while this is all tied in together thanks to an SCT Livewire tuner kit. A Hurst shift kit allows for speedier gear changes. In turn, this Camaro doesn’t just look better, it goes and sounds better too.
Finally, the tuner turned their attention to the wheel department. A set of CCW CV M10 wheels was selected to grace this beauty, providing a nice upgrade over the OEM wheel setup. While these wheels are mostly designed for European and Japanese high-performance machines, they look right at home on an American muscle car like the Camaro SS. The wheels are machined in sizes 19×10 and 19×12 in the front and rear, respectively. They feature a Gunmetal Matte finish.
Furthermore, the wheels are wrapped in Continental high-performance rubber. Continental ExtremeDW tires, sized 275/30/19 in the front and 305/30/19 wrap these like a burrito, providing the perfect high-performance rubber to hit those tight corners and twisty mountain roads.
