Even though right now, Mitsubishi isn’t the hottest brand on the car market right now, this Japanese carmaker still holds a lot of value with the aftermarket tuning scene. Sure, the current lineup is probably only good to make you cry in anger, but the company produced some hell good looking cars in the past. The cars like the Mitsubishi 3000 GT, Diamante or the Eclipse were all fan favorites in the early ’90s and ’00s, but there was one car that overshadowed all of them: the Lancer Evolution.
Coming from the tough rally scene, the Lancer was and still is the epitome of a true rally car. Battling the likes of the Subaru Impreza WRX STi or the Ford Focus WRC, this was the car that got everybody’s blood flowing. And the road-legal Lancers, starting from the EVO V all the way to the EVO X, always provided a true 4×4 rally car experience in street-legal conditions. For us, it’s one of the most popular cars for our customers and this stunning Mitsubishi EVO 8 MR is no different.
Featuring a set of CCW LM20 three-piece deep-dish forged wheels in a Polished Aluminum finish, the red EVO 8 MR looks sick. Certainly, it strays away from its WRC heritage due to the lowering and several other modifications, but it perfectly epitomizes the dropped JDM look, turning it into possibly one of the favorite builds to this date. For this EVO 8, the wheels are machined in sizes of 18×8.5 in the front and 18×8.5 in the rear. After all, you need as much clearance as possible for those huge aftermarket brakes.
In addition to the CCW LM20 wheels, this EVO 8 also showcases a carbon fiber front lip spoiler, side skirts, a rear bumper, and a custom exhaust system. Naturally, the car is lowered on a set of coilovers allowing the owner to adjust both the ride height and the rebound rate, giving this Lancer EVO a perfect setting for both the street and track at the same time.
