When the Corvette C6 ZR1 was under development, it was registered within the company’s ranks with an internal code name Blue Devil. The monicker comes thanks to a nickname for the CEO Rick Wagoner’s alma mater, Duke University. Upon reveal in 2009, the Corvette ZR1 stunned the motoring world. It was an American muscle car that could both tear it up on the drag strip, but also, push the limits of what’s possible on the racetrack.
The vehicle features a supercharged 6.2 Liter LS9 V8 engine delivering 647 horsepower and 604 lb⋅ft (819 N⋅m) of torque. It can sprint from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in 3.4 seconds. It will do a 1/4 of a mile in just 11.4 seconds at 129.3 miles per hour. The vehicle will achieve a top speed of 205mph (330km/h).
When General Motors development engineer Jim Mero drove a stock ZR1 around the Nürburgring, the ZR1 achieved a track time of 7:26.4. During that time, that was significantly faster than the 7:29 lap set by the Nissan GT-R – one of the fastest road-legal cars during that time. Furthermore, the vehicle was also touted as one of the best handling supercars out there. In turn, that made the ZR1 one of the most coveted vehicles out there.
This particular metallic blue Corvette C6 ZR1 is the perfect showcase of what American design & engineering can achieve. The vehicle features a set of CCW Wheels, fully design & built in the United States. The customer decided on a set of CCW LM20 three-piece forged wheels. With a Matte Black finish, custom-built, perfectly fitting hub centric layout, these wheels make for a perfect addition to this American Muscle car. Add a set of sticky high-performance tires, and this Corvette ZR1 is ready to tackle on both the street & the strip with ease.
