When released back in 2004, the Volkswagen Golf MKIV R32 had all the bells & whistles the company could offer. Pretty much every performance, safety, and luxury feature the German carmaker could throw in, they did. The end result is one of the most popular classical performance hatchbacks out there.
The VW Golf MKIV R32 is powered by the 3.2 liter six-cylinder CR6 engine, delivering 241 horsepower and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm) of torque. This was the first production car with a DSG (dual-clutch gearbox) transmission system, promising some lightning-fast gear shifts and impressive performance. In addition to this, the R32 featured further additions such as the Haldex Traction-based 4motion on-demand four-wheel-drive system, allowing impressive power delivery. For those that didn’t want to go with the automatic transmission system in the form of the newly released DSG dual-clutch one, a new six-speed manual transmission was also available. Furthermore, independent rear suspension, Climatronic automatic climate control, sport seats from König with R32 badging, 18″ OZ Aristo alloy wheels (Ronal produced the wheels towards the end of production), Electronic Stability Programme, larger 334 mm (13.1 in) disc brakes with gloss blue-painted calipers, a sunroof for the US market, stock xenon Headlamps (for Europe), and model-specific bodywork additions all made this a rather popular model from the German carmaker.
As a result, the car soon produced some positive problems VW, which decided that due to its popularity, it was time to make it available to even more people. This resulted in Volkswagen making a decision to export this car to Australia and the United States, and that’s where this particular Tornado Red VW Golf R32 found it’s home.
Even though the OEM wheels looked good on the R32, the owner of this vehicle decided to spice things up a bit. This is done thanks to a set of custom-made CCW Classic forged wheels, sized 18×8.5 in the front and 18×8.5 in the rear. And thanks to a Polished Aluminum finish, joined by the exposed fasteners, the wheel setup looks pristine on this red hatchback.
